However, their alliance has changed the landscape of the cloud sector: Microsoft Corp. and Oracle Corp. announced earlier this year that they have worked together to offer interoperability between their clouds that allows their customers to migrate and run mission-critical workloads on Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud.
The two enterprise cloud giants, which previously competed in the business of large enterprise cloud infrastructures, have decided to join forces and also offer new capabilities to their customers courtesy of this partnership.
Thanks to this interconnectivity agreement, your customers can migrate and run mission-critical enterprise workloads on both services. And they can run one part of the workload within Azure and the other part within Oracle Cloud.
They will also be able to seamlessly connect Azure services, such as those running traditional Microsoft workloads, to Oracle Cloud services, such as Analytics or Autonomous Database services.

As a result of this alliance, Microsoft and Oracle are making available a new set of capabilities:
- Seamlessly connecting Azure and Oracle Cloud: Enabling customers to extend their on-premises data centers to both clouds.
- Unified identity and access management: Through a unified user sign-in and automated provisioning experience.
- Support for deploying custom applications and Oracle application packages: JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, Oracle Retail, Hyperion on Azure with Oracle databases (RAC, Exadata, Autonomous Database) deployed on Oracle Cloud.
- A collaborative support model: Helping organizations deploy these new solutions while enabling them to take advantage of the best of both worlds.
The alliance between these two industry monsters Microsoft and Oracle is bringing huge benefits to their users, as it allows them to access the best of both worlds. In addition, it is allowing both companies to grow and have at their fingertips the best possible configuration of services that perfectly meets their needs.
